Castries Markets

On a Friday and Saturday you can expect to find the huge Castries market on Jeremie and Peynier street.   Attending the local market is often a mix of country folk, towns people and tourists.  With local farmers attractively arranging their fresh produce, such as rose coloured sweet potatoes, papayas, breadfruit (regarded as quite heavy), bananas as well as a range of the flourishing spices courtesy of the volcanic soil.  Close by you will find the daily fisherman’s catch and uniquely positioned between the produce is local craftsman’s latest creations.

Dining in St Lucia
